Advanced Resin Now Approved Installers Of Sika Ucrete UD200 & UD200SR

We are delighted to have been approved as an installer for Sika Ucrete UD200 and Ucrete UD200SR, joining a selected group of licensed applicators operating across the UK. Ucrete resin flooring systems, developed by Sika – a global manufacturer of construction chemicals and specialist building materials based in Switzerland – are a range of heavy-duty polyurethane screeds designed for demanding industrial environments.
What Is Ucrete?
Rather than being a single product, Ucrete is a system-based flooring toolkit made up of different grades and finishes of industrial resin. Ucrete systems are usually installed as a multi-layer flooring build-up, applied directly onto a prepared concrete substrate. The exact specification (thickness, texture, finish etc) is selected to meet the needs of the customer’s environment. This makes Ucrete extremely well suited to floors that need to withstand a combination of chemical attack, high temperature, impact, traffic flow, and frequent cleaning.
For example:
- Food and beverage manufacturing facilities
- Commercial kitchens and catering environments
- Breweries, dairies and distilleries
- Pharmaceutical and cleanroom environments
- Chemical processing plants
- Warehouses and logistics centres
- Engineering workshops and manufacturing facilities
- Waste handling and recycling areas
- Cold storage and freezer rooms
Sika Ucrete UD200 is a heavy-duty polyurethane screed used as the finished wearing surface in Ucrete floor systems, typically laid at 6–12mm thickness depending on the demands of the site. It has a lightly textured profile and is designed for production and process areas exposed to aggressive chemicals, heavy impacts and thermal shock, with temperature resistance up to 150°C in certain system builds.
Sika Ucrete UD200SR is the more heavily profiled, slip-resistant version (hence UD200SR) of the system, again installed as the wearing layer within a Ucrete build-up and typically applied at 6–12mm. Its main distinction is its higher surface friction, making it better suited than the standard UD200 to wet process areas, dairies, filling lines, intake areas, and other parts of a plant where water, oils or spillages are part of day-to-day operations. Like UD200, the SR variant is designed to withstand high levels of chemical exposure, impact and thermal stress.
Curing And Return To Service
Ucrete systems are known for their relatively fast curing times compared to some commercial resin floors, but your curing time will still depend on factors such as the ambient temperature, substrate condition and thickness of application.
For Sika Ucrete UD200 and UD200SR, typical guidance is:
-
- Light foot traffic: around 12–24 hours after installation
- Full mechanical and chemical service: typically after 24–48 hours
In some cases, floors can be returned to service more quickly at higher ambient temperatures, while colder conditions will slow the curing process. As these are polyurethane systems, they will continue to gain strength after the initial cure, but the floor is generally ready for normal industrial use within this timeframe.
What Next?
Sika operates a relatively small network of approved Ucrete installers in the UK, reflecting the specialist nature of the product and the importance of correct installation.
